As one of England’s 39 Local Enterprise Partnerships, the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LCR LEP) has a primary task to support the economic development of the Liverpool City Region through its help towards business growth and job creation across the region. The LCR LEP does so through its extensive partnership of over 500 members, including businesses, local authorities, central government bodies, Chamber of Commerce, universities and business organisations, representing the entire Liverpool City Region at government level, pursuing key policy issues relevant for the economic development of the region.

The LCR LEP has developed the ESIF Strategy and is also directly responsible for its implementation, ensuring that the sources of public funding are effectively aligned and act as a lever for additional private investments in the region. Through this work, the LCR LEP will be able to share its extensive experience in financing schemes and support measures that can actively support innovation and matching public and private funds. Parallel to this, the LEP will benefit from the Good Practices from other regions by gaining ideas on how to efficiently use ESIF funds for boosting the Innovation Economy in healthcare & well-being.
