Some Good Practices from IMPACT project were selected to be shared at the event organised by Interreg Europe during #EURegionsWeek in Brussels, last week.
Among these, Interreg Europe showed special interest to know from first hand the experience from EUCC Baltic office on preventing dune landscape degradation by working closely with the authorities of the Kuršių Nerija National Park in a win-win solution for a situation with conflicting interests among different stakeholders within the same area, which is important both for local welfare and for nature conservation.
The lesson learned during the implementation of the practice is that the key to success is in timely involvement of external experts, the administration of the national park and of local municipality
The Good practice can be checked here: Shifting dune management on the Curonian Spit, a coastal UNESCO World Heritage landscape.
It will also be available at the Policy Learning Platform.
