Within the framework of the ESPARC Conference (Biannual conference of the Spanish network of protected areas) that took place in Cangas de Onís (Asturias), one of the villages included in the Picos de Europa National Park and Biosphere Reserve, Partner P2 - EUROPARC Federation disseminated the IMPACT Interreg Europe project during the networking marketplace, that was set up to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge among participants.
The main topic of the whole conference was the program Society & Protected Areas 2020, a programme that calls for action in order to strengthen the system of protected areas and improve the benefits they bring to current generations and future ones. It is a call to create alliances to increase the involvement of a well-informed society, committed and co-responsible with the challenges derived from global change and where terrestrial and marine protected areas should play an important role.
