Problems are sometimes described as WICKED because they are incomplete, contradictory or involve changing requirements, that are often difficult to recognise. Catherine Sheridan of Irish Utility company outlined that it is important to remain solution focused in order to achieve our goals. Speaking at the second INTENSIFY thematic event in Treviso on the 11th December 2018 , Catherine pointed out that many aspects of climate mitigation and carbon reduction are WICKED problems. Catherine recommended using the iterative process outlined below as a way of dealing with WICKED problems.
