Maribor Development Agency, the lead partner of project INTRA (programme Interreg Europe) proposed changes to the OP for implementation of the EU Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 in East Slovenia. As the result, the Ministry for Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia prepared the Internationalisation vouchers.

“Thanks to vouchers we were able to present our products at the Anuga fair, where we established over 800 contacts. 7 of them turned into business cooperation, which enabled us to enter new markets – including Korea!.”
Petlja is a production and trade company that was established in Ptuj in 1990. They are a representative of renowned European producers of food and drinks for Slovene region and partly for former Yugoslavian region. As a distributor of food and beverages, they are both importing and exporting, thus internationalisation is at the core of their business.
For the Slovene market, they deal in production, marketing, distribution and acquiring high quality exclusive import programmes of food and drinks from renowned foreign suppliers. For foreign markets, they distribute Slovenian products abroad. However, Petlja also has its own brands, which it distributes both on the domestic and foreign market.
In 2019 Petlja applied for a voucher for group participation of Slovenian economy at fairs abroad in the total worth of 1.714,78, to participate at the Anuga fair – one of the biggest and more important fairs for food and beverages. At the fair they established over 800 contacts, however, there were only about 150 follow up activities. Out of those, only 7 resulted in business cooperation. Still, Petlja does not complain, as one of them opened the door to the Korean market, where they have started distributing the Slovenian brand Viki krema!
