Coventry University Enterprises ltd organised a three-day study visit from the 12th to the 14th December 2017 for the INTRA project. The visit which started at the Coventry University Technology Park, was attended by INTRA’s 6 project partners from Slovenia, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
Participants also included European stakeholders from managing authorities, business support and intermediaries agencies which represented active internationalisation actors.
During the study visit INTRA partners exchanged, explored and disseminated good practices in ways to promote internationalisation for small and medium sizes businesses by improving competitiveness of the respective regions involved.
The event covered 20 different good practices from the local area of both, Coventry and Warwickshire, Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham. This first INTRA study visit to the West Midlands brought together local stakeholders from Coventry University Enterprise Ltd, Coventry City council, Coventry & Warwickshire Chambers of commerce, Coventry Growth HUB, Stratford on Avon District Council, the Department for International Trade and Greater Birmingham Chambers of commerce. They all shared their local experiences and knowledge with INTRA partners, European regional authorities’ representatives and internationalisation experts, to better support companies in our respective regions.
The INTRA project allows each project partner to develop strategies and instruments to enhance good practices and address gaps within current regional development policy which will be presented in the form of Policy recommendations and later implemented through Regional Actions Plans which cover needs not already filled by existing instruments.
