The pilot action is dedicated to test an IT tool for monitoring the implementation of Public Service Contract for road passenger public transport in the Baia Mare Metropolitan Area, which will lead to an efficient, transparent and better administration of the public passenger transport service, both in relation with the citizens, as well as with the territorial administrative units in the Baia Mare Metropolitan Area and also with the public transport operator.
The beneficiaries will be the Baia Mare Metropolitan Area Association which has the responsibility to monitor the public service contract, which will be done through the IT tools developed, as well as the City Halls of the territorial administrative units members of the BMMA and Local Councils, by having clear and transparent updated information on the transport programmes, tariffs, timetables and subsidies they have to approve and the performance indicators of the service.
By using the IT tool, the timetables will be permanently updated, the tariffs will be integrated and the busses operating in the metropolitan area will be correlated with the ones operating in the municipality. This will allow for better performance review, and as a result, the efficiency of the service will be improved. The citizens of Baia Mare Municipality and metropolitan area will thus also benefit from the tool.
The test of the IT tool will be carried out for a 12 months period, at a small-scale, respectively at the level of Baia Mare City as the main Administrative Territorial Unit in the operating area, Baia Mare Metropolitan Area Association as the Transport Authority and S.C. URBIS S.A. as the public transport operator.
If successful, it will be deployed full scale, as an instrument for monitoring the implementation of the public transport service contract, at the level of the other six Administrative Territorial Unit in the operating area - Baia Sprie and Tăuții Măgherăuș Towns and Groși, Dumbrăvița, Recea and Săcălășeni Communes.
The total budget of the Pilot Action is 78.800 euro and the implementation period is 1st of May 2020 - 31st of December 2021.
