What is the Region Västerbotten and who is Magnus Rudehäll?

Region Västerbotten is a co-operative body which is Responsible of Regional Development in Västerbotten County. A political organisation established in January 2008 by Västerbotten County Council and the county's 15 municipalities.

Region Västerbotten lay strategic plans and finance Västerbotten's development within the fields of culture, business and industry, digitalisation, environment, energy and climate, transportation and public transportation, education, training, health care, nursing and social issues.

I work as a digital strategist at Region Västerbotten and has a passion for change with the motto: Everything can always be better. The work as a digital strategist includes everything from the expansion of our already fantastic broadband networks to increase the number of digital services and the digital inclusion of residents in Västerbotten. When I'm not working I like to spend time with my family out in our cottage by the sea north of Umeå. I also like being out in nature, to hunt moose during the autumn and cross-country skiing in the winter with Vasaloppet as the annual goal.

What is OSIRIS to you?

For me OSIRIS is a project in which the participating parties will take part, contribute and share experiences on how to best use of open and social innovation in regional development. How to use different methods and models to increase participation from all sectors of society and thereby enhance regional growth and attractiveness in different ways.

Who will benefit from the project and how?

In OSIRIS, as in all regional development, all sectors of society have important roles and must be involved in the work. The project focuses on the development and implementation of strategies and action plans to increase the use of open and social innovation. Politicians, stakeholders and people who work with regional development will be directly affected. They will have the tools, models and techniques they can use in their work. But even companies, academia, civil society and, not least, the individual will be affected indirectly. Regardless of role, everyone will get a simpler and smarter everyday life!
