An online conference of the IHome4You pilot project in Fundao, Portugal, has just taken place with the presence of CTI Diophantus' and the inspiring AAL House project in Patras, Greece.
In this meeting the team of CTI Diophantus and representatives from Fundão Municipality, UBI University and Fab-Lab Schist Villages were present.
The agenda was very focused and covered crucial topics for this pilot project to live on after the project period of Osiris.
It started with a presentation of the AAL House/Laboratory in Patras by prof Chrysostomos Stylios of CTI Diophantus. This was followed by a presentation by Mr Ricardo Goncales and Ms Micaela Gil from the Municipality of Fundao.
They presented the pilot project IHome4You and gave reflections and remarks on the last visit in Patras, Greece where they had the opportunity to see the showroom AAL House – an adapted classroom into a Ambient Assisted Living Laboratory.
The pilot project in Fundao is born from this example and the aim is to transform not a classroom but an empty store in the historic center of Fundao into a showroom and a laboratory – a pilot smart house with integrated e-health and assisted living technologies.
Start-ups and other companies can play a pivotal role in creating and testing solutions for this space where their innovative prototypes and products can be tested with the beneficiaries.
Prof. Bruno Silva of the University of Beira Interior presented some solutions that might be of interest for the iHome4You pilot and addressed possibilities for linking these to the new space.
This conference proved to be of great importance in the exchange of more in-depth knowledge of Ambient Assisted Living (ALL) House technologies, inspiring for IHome4You, and the importance of UBI / FabLab stakeholders´ support for the pilot project in Fundao.
The conclusion of the meeting was a strengthening of cooperation beyond the end of the Osiris project.
