On 24 June 2020, an online study visit within the OUR WAY project took place in Podkarpacie. The guests were welcomed by Mrs. Danuta Cichoń - Director of the Regional Economy Department. The visit was attended by 23 people, among them: Director of the European Greenways Association (EGWA), Director for Relations with the EU (Regional Ministry of Entrepreneurship of the Region of Murcia), representatives of OURWAY project partners from Spain, Bulgaria, France and Ireland and members of some Regional Stakeholder Working Groups of partner countries.
During this online visit 3 good practices identified in the Podkarpackie Region were presented:
promotional activities in the Eastern Cycling Route Green Velo project, co-financed under the Operational Programme Development of Eastern Poland 2007-2013,
cooperation of various entities in the implementation of the Bieszczady Green Bicycle - Greenway Eastern Carpathians route and current areas of cooperation undertaken by the Bieszczady Foundation,
the main objectives of the Ambitious Tourism Area with the cooperation of municipalities and the use of their budgets for joint implementation, management and promotion of the routes in the municipalities - partners.
At the end of the meeting, the planned changes in regional policy instruments of the Podkarpackie Region were also discussed, as well as the implementation of the project concerning the revitalization of bicycle routes in the Bieszczady Mountains with the construction of a link to the Green Velo route. The purpose of the online study visits is to present details of good practices that can be applied in the Action Plans of other OUR WAY project partners.
