The Finnish Regional Steering Group had a meeting in mid October in Luovasti co-working space in Veteli, Central Ostrobothnia. Maria Timo-Huhtala, the owner of Luovasti introduced the space and discussion was very active around the subject of today’s ways of working and the pros and cons of remote working.  Hannu Jyrkkä, Municipal Director of Veteli, was the chair in this fourth meeting of the P-IRIS regional steering group.

The meeting enjoyed a good attendance, in spite of the fact that the same week was an autumn break week for most municipalities. Study trip plans for Croatia were discussed. The Project Coordinator gave greetings from the Burgos workshop and the themes from the trip were discussed.

The project’s budgeting was also discussed, and the plan for the current semester was approved. The plan enables:

  • Participation of two RSG members to the study visit in Croatia
  • Establishment of a network of co-working spaces in the area
  • Organising a series of events exploring new ways of working using ICT, enabling meetings between professionals working remotely in different ways, and discovering tools and connections for creating better products and services.

What else have we been up to in Central Ostrobothnia?

  • Talking to decision-makers and organisations in the region, finding out best ways of cooperation with the P-IRIS project.
  • Interviewing network representatives to get a good overview of the area’s network resources and the types of services and financial aids that are available for current and future entrepreneurs.
  • Exploring and creating more and better co-working spaces around the region.
  • Taking part in the development of travel services around the region.
  • Organising and scheduling travel for for the P-IRIS study visits.
