Thanks to P-IRIS project, SODEBUR has established a very strong and fruitful cooperation with the University Isabel I (https://www.ui1.es/en); being one of our more active participants in the local stakeholders group, some University’s representatives had also the opportunity to travel to Slovenia in 2018 and taking part in one of our transnational meetings in phase 1.
On these grounds, the University Isabel I organised in April 2019 (together with SODEBUR and the Provincial Government of Valladolid) a conference for better and deeply understand the concept of “Smart rural”.
The main topic of the day was presenting good practices at regional level to promote connecting smart and sustainable growth specially focus on rural areas.
Thus, P-IRIS was presented in this forum as an example of cooperation and understanding about different realities of innovations systems to use the “smart” perspective to contribute to economic development in the rural areas of Europe.
