In order to change from linear processes (take-make-dispose) towards circular ones (take-make-use-remake) the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Bastia and the CCI of Maremma and Tirreno have co-designed a cross-border action plan!

Developed in the framework of PASSAGE project, the Corsica Channel action plan has been jointly elaborated with local stakeholders. Its aims? To implement “a circular economy in the coastal and insular areas of Corsica Channel”.

Indeed the links between climate change and circular economy could support the sustainable development of maritime territories and reduce their carbon footprint. Moreover, through a collaborative approach to the management of the sustainable development of maritime and marine areas it can improve the competitiveness of coastal and insular territories.

The two Chambers of Commerce and Industry will therefore implement the 3 followign actions:

-          Make the tourism more sustainable (creation of a Local Plan for Circular Tourism)
-          Make the food production and consumption habits sustainable (creation of a Local Agro-Food Circular Plan)
-          Increase the concern for the circular economy challenge within the sea ports (Circular port, transport and logistic)
