The Council of the Metropolitan City of Florence has approved the participation in the "Strategic Metropolis" project, financed with the European Regional Development Fund and the National Operational Program Governance and Institutional Capacity, adopted in 2015 by the European Commission. The project is implemented, by convention, by ANCI on the basis of a comparison with the metropolitan cities in favor of institutional innovation, the necessary organizational changes and the development of broad area skills. Experimentation is carried out on the administrative simplification of building and urban planning, strategic metropolitan plans and associated management of services and plans for institutional and organizational reorganization. In the Florentine case, Anci will realize all the management, monitoring, evaluation, training, networking, communication and experimentation activities related to the project for the Metrocittà and will support the costs as project beneficiaries. The agreement has a duration until February 22nd 2020.
