In Bologna, Italy, a Business Innovation Centre addressing startups from agrofood industry and food&beveradge sector has recently been born. It is an open innovation centre that gathers together important players such as Granarolo, Gellify, Camst, Conserve Italia, Cuniola, Ima ed Eurovo with the support of Università di Bologna, Almacube, Enea and ASTER, that will work both at national and international level so as to find and enhance business opportunities.

In February a selection process aimed at identify those startups that will benefit from acceleration services has started. Startups will come from the following sectors:

  • Healthy Food and Special Needs
  • Food Traceability
  • Sustainable Packaging
  • Food Delivery
  • Precision Agriculture

Agrofood BIC will support startups in developing their project, by mixing together acceleration services with skills and tools designed to make their ideas grow and face the market. The accelerator and its partners will give Start-ups factories, pilot plants, R&D assistance and networking opportunities.
