On 10th of November the Ministry for Gozo started using its first EV busses as a free of charge shuttle service from a Park and Ride in Xewkija to Mġarr Harbour, where the ferry between Malta and Gozo operates.
Several Gozo residents, commute daily from Gozo to Malta and back, for work or study reasons. This was causing traffic and lack of parking problems in Mġarr Harbour. The free of charge shuttle service, with trips every ten minutes, will not only reduce parking problems but will reduce carbon emissions, satisfying the Ministry for Gozo aim to become a pioneer for low-carbon policies and transform Gozo to carbon-neutral before the national EU 2050 target.
