After successfully rounding off the Peer Review cycle, partners have started the data  collection process in the third semester of the project. One of the most innovative aspects of the RESOLVE project is the fact that partners have developed a Monitoring and Evaluation Tool. This tool consists in a survey meant to collect relevant information about the visitors and retailers in designated areas of the cities involved in the partnership.

Partners will collect data at three different moments during the lifetime of the project: in semester 3 (baseline), semesters 5/6 (for Regional Action Plan ex-ante evaluation) and in semesters 9/10 (for RAP ex-post evaluation). Two types of surveys have been developed: one is meant to collect information about how visitors/shoppers travel to the retail areas and one to collect information about how goods are delivered to shops in the city. At the moment, the partners Roermond (NL), Reggio Emilia (IT), Kronoberg County (SE), Manchester (UK) and Moravia Silesia Region (CZ) have performed the surveys. More than 2,300 consumers’ surveys have been collected so far! The information collected will help the partners to understand the travel and consumer behaviour of visitors: among others, which transport mode people use to travel to shopping areas, how often they travel, how much money they spend per visit and how they rate the attractiveness of the shopping areas. The analysis of the results, and the comparison among partners, will be done in semester 4.
