On 5 September 2018, the City of Roermond hosted Maribor Municipality for a Study Visit aimed at learning from the cities of Antwerp and Rotterdam about their bike sharing systems.
The two cities have indeed a high experience in the use bike sharing as an alternative and sustainable way of transport for inner city movements, contributing to a modal shift towards low-carbon modes of transport.
The first Good Practice visited was “Velo Antwerp”, a new bike sharing system offered by the Belgian city and interesting for Resolve partners because of the high usage and the increasing part of cycling in the total modal-split.
During the visit in Rotterdam, Maribor Municipality could learn more about the Good Practice “Bike Sharing System Rotterdam” and in particular about the measures adopted by the City to improve the quality of the whole concept of bike sharing.
