Thanks to the RFC project, the existing policy instrument has been expanded and three strategic materials dedicated to the future development and sustainable care of Terezín Fortress have been produced. These are New Green Management, Management of Open Spaces and Re-Design of Tourist Infrastructure.
The three stakeholders involved (the Municipality of Terezín, the Terezín Memorial and the Terezín – město změny association) have gradually started to implement these strategic materials:
Maintenance of greenery
During the maintenance of greenery on the Terezín fortifications, the approaches are constructed in the masterplan. Mosaic mowing, grazing and more.
Tourist Infrastructure
Terezín has applied for and received a grant to extend services for visitors in the form of caravan stands. We are now preparing an international project with the Königstein Fortress in Germany to upgrade the information centre, add greenery and rest areas to the car park and revitalise Bastion 5.
Open Spaces
According to the project masterplan, the renewal of urban furniture in the pre-selected locations from the IROP project is being prepared. In particular, the squares, roads around the fortifications will be concerned.
