The North-West Regional Development Agency played a pivotal role throughout the RFC project, facilitating access to various opportunities and coordinating the Regional Representatives Committee, which included over 30 organizations from the North-West Region actively engaged in heritage-related initiatives. Their efforts were instrumental in fostering interregional cooperation for the promotion and support of historical heritage. This summary also highlights key actions within the project action plan:
ACTION 1. Cluj Cetățuia Fortress green belt planning:
Cluj-Napoca Municipality, RFC stakeholder, implemented the 0.38 mil euro preparation project funded from Technical Assistance Operational Programme 2014-2020 and obtained the feasibility study and all attached preparatory documentation, and all technical approvals for the future infrastructure project.
This action was about the technical documentation, therefore no infrastructure project has been started yet; preparatory documentation ready, project will be submitted for funding to the Regional Programme 2021-2027.
ACTION2. Preparation of Cultural Routes for heritage restauration, cooperation, digitalization and joint promotion
5 local public authorities acting as RFC stakeholders (representing Oradea Fortress, Moldovenești Fortress, Bologa Fortress, Bologa Roman Fort, Bistrita Medieval Fortress and Cluj Cetatuia Fortress) have won and contracted during the 3 open calls running in 2022-2023, promotion or rehabilitation projects of 6,645 mil euro (2.155 mil euro for 3 rehabilitation and 30.000 euro for 6 promotion and digitalisation), funded from the Romanian Resilience and Recovery Plan, under the Roman Forts Cultural Route and the Fortresses Cultural Route, Component 11. Tourism and Culture. All projects have been contracted; the technical documentation is under preparation for the infrastructure projects, while the promotion and digital component will start at a later stage.

Following the LIMES Roman Frontiers, a new Interreg Europe project proposal has been prepared considering an integrated planning for a cultural route. The project is being coordinated by National Museum of Transylvanian History, RFC stakeholder and was prepared based on the capitalization of the RFC project results, ensuring sustainability of the actions:
ACTION3. Bologa Heritage Advisory Board:
cooperation with sustainable strategic outputs, among RFC LSG stakeholders. Poieni Municipality, responsible for both Bologa Roman Fort (A-category monument) and Bologa Fortress (B-category monument), in close cooperation with National Museum of Transylvanian History, Cluj County Council, Transylvania Architects Order and NGO association for marketing and events, applied an integrated approach both for investments (prepared, submitted and won 3 projects for Bologa Castrum and Bologa Fortress and prepares the local Masterplan) as well as for cultural and touristic approach, as Verde de Bologa Festival/ Green Bologa was organized in August 2022 and planned for August 2023 as well, including reenactment camp.
