Unioncamere del Veneto (Italy), partner of Road-CSR project, presented the final version of the action plan of Veneto region. The general aim of the action plan is to define a road map to mainstream CSR and social innovation in the Regional operational Program of the European Social Found 2014 – 2020.
The definition of the action plan started from a consultation with the regional stakeholders (enterprises, networks of companies, universities, NGOs and local public authorities). Moreover, very important were the lessons learned by the best practices collected in the consolidated report of the project, in particular the link between technological innovations and social or environmental impact and the importance of networks among enterprises and non-profit sector (public administration, ONG, Universities).
The specific aims of the action plan are to foster in the Veneto region the dissemination of:
- hybrid businesses: and in particular B-Corp and Benefit companies
- new productive paradigms among SMEs that mix social mission with market-driven approach.
Viewing CSR as a strategic driver for the sustainable development of the territory the Veneto region invested 17 billion of euros of the ROP to finance projects on CSR.
However, the problem is that the regional strategy to support CSR have never been formalized in a document. For this reason, an action plan was needed to plan next activities capitalizing the results already achieved.
The Action Plan will be implemented between 2019 and 2020 and it consists of 2 specific actions:
- innovative value chains for social responsibility
- Youth participation in social innovation
The first action has already been financed with a Call For Proposals under the ROP ESF 2014-2020: Deliberation of the Regional Council n. 816 of 11th June 2019 “Responsible enterprise”. The Veneto Region allocated 1.5 billion of euros and the projects are ongoing.
The aims of the action 2 are:
- to support the birth of innovative startups with status of benefits corporation,
- to promote the attraction of young talents to the benefit companies.
The results of the two actions will be monitored by Unioncamere del Veneto, in cooperation with the board of stakeholders thanks to a dashboard of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
