An online meeting has been held with the regional Governments of Söderhamn (Sweden), Sligo (Ireland), Burgenlandkreis (Germany) and Western Macedonia (Greece) to learn more about the Aragon Rural MultiService model to implement it in their territories.

Among the Action Plans of the Save Rural Retail (SARURE) project that the partners will develop inspired by the good practices exchanged, the interest in the Rural MultiService model stands out, which has been the reference in all the territories covered by the Program, a model in which the Teruel Chamber of Commerce, the Government of Aragon and the Teruel Provincial Government have been working since 2003.

These Entities have known in depth how the start-up model and process arises, exposing the role that each of the Administrations plays. Special emphasis has also been placed on the incorporation of services that complement the business and hospitality activity of the Multiservices, as a nerve center in the municipality where they are established.

At the meeting, the importance of public-private cooperation in the project was highlighted, as well as the involvement and indispensable commitment of the City Councils and the managers of these establishments whose function is more social than economic for the life and survival of the municipality where they are installed.

The important role that these Centers have played during the COVID-19 pandemic has also been recalled, supplying the population and responding to home orders.
