On May 18, 2021, the online meeting took place to learn about some projects and businesses that show good results derived from good work and innovation in the South Karelia region of Finland.
This meeting was also attended by the hosts of the project in Finland together with the managers of the two initiatives exposed, Puls Railway Station and Iloinen Pässi (Happy Ram). In addition, as assistants the members of the projects in Aragon (Spain), South Sligo (Ireland), Western Macedonia (Greece), Burgenlandkreis (Germany), Söderhamn (Sweden) and Warmia and Mazury (Poland).
After the introduction of Johannes Moisio, Project Coordinator in South Karelia, the initiative of Puls Railway Station has been exposed, where a complex of accommodation has been created in a disused train station and in the surrounding buildings, located by a lake . This place also has businesses such as coffee shop, B&B and interior design and decoration businesses. The buildings have been restored maintaining the outside style and with modern interiors and with all the comforts.
On the other hand, Iloinen Pässi (Happy Ram) is a Village shop and coffee shop in Parikkala, located on a road very close to the Russian border. Its differentiation, its great marketing work and its selection of quality local suppliers and products are the keys to this business.
In both initiatives it is observed that managers are people with studies and knowledge of the field to which they work and of the business and entrepreneurial world.
