This is a continuation of the successful cooperation between the City of Varaždin and the Agency as part of a project that together creates and proposes the improvement of the legislative framework and measures to stimulate the increase of the energy efficiency of the social housing sector within the existing and future operational programs as well as other sources of funding. Prior to the start of the project, the City of Varaždin showed great interest in this topic, given the recognized needs and potentials of the social housing sector in Varaždin, and the result of such interest was the participation of the City in the local action group and participation in the project and in study trips. Consequently, the City hosts an international conference that was 26th September at 9.30 a.m. in the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, in Petar Preradović Street 17.
Speakers at the international conference "Regional Policy for Greening the Social Housing Sector" were experts on social issues and energy poverty Gojko Bežovan from the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb, Slavica Robić from the Society for Sustainable Development (DOOR), Mitchell Reardon, an expert from Canada and others.
