On March 6 and 7, CCDR-NORTE was invited by the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia to participate as a stakeholder group member in the 5th transnational meeting of the LOCARBO project, in Budapest. The LOCARBO project, which is supported by the Interreg Europe programme, aims at improving "Low Carbon" policy instruments by encouraging the use of renewable energy and increasing energy efficiency in buildings, namely by focusing on consumer behaviour change.
The first day of the event kicked off with a public presentation of the national program "Virtual Power Plant", which distinguished a significant number of municipalities, companies, schools and students for their good practice actions in the field of energy efficiency. The public presentation was followed by a series of internal meetings to the LOCARBO partnership and its stakeholders, which included the presentation and discussion of the Inventory of Good Practices and the development of municipal/regional action plans. Subsequently, a conference involving all the Managing Authorities took place, in which CCDR-Norte has presented the Social Green Project and how it will influence policy instruments regarding social housing and efficiency, namely the Regional Operational Program “NORTE 2020”.
