SPIA meeting in Prague: new ideas for the City of a Hundred Spires
The last stakeholder meeting of the Prague’s STEPHANIE project was held on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Once again it has brought together a large number of experts and has become a place of fruitful discussion on the use of space technologies on Earth.
The main purpose of the meeting was to summarize project activities over the last period, notably by presenting the outputs of the project partners meeting in Düsseldorf, which took place in July 2018. Another aim was to introduce several new examples of the use of space technologies in practice and, above all, exchange of experience and discussion on the use of satellite data for public administration.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the project themselves, as well as experts from the scientific field, public administration and private companies. The discussion brought up many interesting ideas and issues from the area of space-based technologies, one of the most discussed topics being, for example, the possibility of tracking urban mass transport via satellites, green roofs in cities, or new possibilities of financing space-related research.
The event took place in the Škoda Palace building at Jungmannova 35/29, Prague 1.
