On March 30, 2022, South Muntenia Regional Development Agency (SMRDA), as a partner in the UpGradeSME project, organised online, through the Zoom application, the meeting of local stakeholders interested in improving regional/national policy instruments in the field of SME competitiveness development.

The event was attended by relevant business, research and development representatives to the South Muntenia region, including those of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Argeș, Dâmbovița, Ialomița, Prahova and Teleorman Counties, INMA (The National Institute of Research – Development for Machines and Installations Designed for Agriculture and Food Industry) Bucharest, but also from the South-West Oltenia Regional Development Agency.

Participants in the event were presented with useful information about: the current state of the UpGradeSME project, the conclusions of the study on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on SMEs and the public policy instrument (ROP PA2), the model of the good practice form, as well as regarding the identification of relevant good practices on the internationalization of SMEs in the post-COVID-19 era.

SMRDA gave a presentation, aiming at the conclusions of the study on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on SMEs and the public policy instrument. According to the questionnaire applied, the degree of COVID-19 impact on SMEs in the region, is closely related to:

❑ The development stage of company;

❑ The economic sector;

❑ Appetite for innovation and digitization.

Subsequently, discussions were held on the project information presented and the participants were asked to come later with suggestions to collect good practices. Also, they were encouraged not to hesitate to make any further proposals or questions.
