This staff exchange meeting started with a round table discussion with a presentation about the Ma Rénov project in Bordeaux and the experiences of both municipalities with making traditional buildings more energy efficient.
Bordeaux Metropole, ALEC, HZ University of Applied Sciences and Municipality Middelburg (Bordeaux Metropole hosted the meeting in their office)
The Ma Rénov project was explained, as a free, neutral and independent support each step of the way:
- Balance of housing
- Choosing the renovation works necessary
- Help choosing the adequate firm
- Financial plan
- Advice during the work accomplished
The project has a smart website where owners can see their own tailor-made advice. This advice is free; therefore, some people only want the advice, and don’t take the measures.
The Ma Rénov project is not yet for heritage buildings, but Middelburg is inspired by this project and wants to adapt it to use it for heritage buildings. Ideas were exchanged on how this could be done.
In the afternoon two apartment complexes were visited which are being renovated with the Ma Rénov project.
