NurseCall is an intelligent, IP-based nurse call solution for hospitals, nursing
homes, assisted living apartments, and other health-care organisations
Nurses are very busy individuals - they take care of patients, deal with endless amounts of paperwork, insert care-documentation, respond to calls etc. An intelligent, IP-based nurse call solution combines nurse call & care documentation management in the same device.The solution enables nurses to automate work processes, to efficiently organize care documentation, and to receive information on current events in the organization.With NurseCare a nurse can immediately be alerted allowing her to respond to a call in a matter of seconds. It also notifies other caregivers that the call has been answered. Nurses can easily document every task directly from a patient’s room, logging it through the NurseTab terminal. The update is then synchronized with the existing hospital information system, negating any duplicated data. This removes the possibility of documentation errors, information loss and endless document searches.
Full-identification creates an event log, giving insight into which nurse was in which room at what time, the task she took care of and for how long. It shows which patients take up the most time and which require the greatest care. It displays which time of day has the biggest workload and which employee takes care of most tasks. It also alerts staff when a task requires immediate attention.NurseCare is developed in cooperation with its end-users and incorporates a continuously optimized artificial intelligence to offer only the best in user experience.
Resources needed
Most of development was self-funded by us. Some features of the system were partly funded by EC(EUREKA, AAL and other EU funded projects), in total: approximately 0.5 million €. Development involves 5-7 SW and HW developers, 2-3 technicians, 1-2 sales marketing manager, 1 project manager.
Evidence of success
NurseCare is already installed in countries all over the world. It covers more than 350 health care organisations and has more than 100.000 users.
In an US study “How do medical nurses spend their time” with over 700 nurses included results accounted that more than 35% of nursing practising time is dedicated to care documentation. After the feedback of our NurseCare users, with our solution administration tasks related to care documentation are reduced by more than half.
Difficulties encountered
Our key challenge is mostly related to resources for further development of the solution by adding new valuable features to it. Other challenges are developing user-friendly interface due to different tech skills of users, data duplication, adaptation and integration to every institution/hospital.

We want to make sure that every patient, the elderly and people employed in healthcare feels at ease, and that effective assistance will always be provided.NurseCare strives to ensure that nursing staff can effectively and free of administrative work devote themselves completely to their primary tasks - care and treatment. IP solution promotes raising quality in healthcare and optimize work processes in healthcare organizations. Company Eurotronik made a major innovation leap, &combined the system of the nurse call system with e-recording activities health care directly in the hospital room.Together with the Faculty of Health Sciences they carried out research digitization project as a tool for monitoring the quality of hospital nursing quality indicators&established within study programme . NurseCare can improve the quality of health-care management, reduce many related costs&work, thus enableling better and happier society, e-services and optimise work processes
