REKO model facilitates the end consumers reaching the local producers and their products directly. The REKO-model now is very much focusing on Facebook based communication where the local producers can inform of what products they have available and when, and the consumers can order products on Facebook. Once ordered, the product will be delivered to a previously agreed pick-up point at a previously agreed time and the ordered produce is available for pick-up there and then. Consumers feedback on the service has been positive. It enables them to get to know the producer (give a face to the product) and to buy local, fresh produce without any delay in the distribution chain.
