Project aims to help young adults from orphanages and foster care to transition to independent living in a comprehensive way.
Methodology
The key part of the project is the work of coordinators in regions. The coordinator has about 50-60 clients. He organizes the educational program, individual consultations, cooperates with the individual mentor, institutions, NGO, companies… The key characteristic of this person is high level of leadership. The reason is that he doesn´t have any other formal authority to work with clients.
Activities carried out:
Team of coordinators:
• 700 project participants and continuous replenishment
• 100+ fully integrated people
• 200 active mentors as needed
• Consultations in orphanages as needed
• Direct help and scholarships (financial support in critical situations, health, and law issues)
• 80-90 regional group meetings per year (in a covid time mostly online or in small groups)
• 2 nationwide project meetings per year
• Creating a network of potential employers as needed
• Seminars and personal development opportunities for project participants and mentors
• 3 round tables in the regions per year, participation in 3 conferences per year
Team of expert:
• Involved in the work of professional and inter-ministerial working groups of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, etc.
• Combining data, information, creating comprehensive outputs
• Methodical work on the development of aids and tools for entrepreneurial spirit and financial literacy teaching
• Development of cooperation and partnerships, etc.

Resources needed

Human resources:14 coordinators for the young ones, 2 coordinators for mentors, team of expert, fundraiser, back office manager, a lawyer and PR specialist . Financial resources: The whole project takes 445.000 EUR / year. Other resources: A need to invest in buying starting flats in some regions

Evidence of success

Project created unique system independent from the state institution and state money. 65-85% (differently region from region) of all people leaving orphanages use this program as the way to their independence. And this is the clear evidence of success.

Difficulties encountered

Project has three key factors and many other yearly goals which has to achieve and report to the donors:
1) Number of project participant
2) Number of integrated people
3) Number of active mentors
So, to accomplish of these goals is crucial to secure funding of the project.

Potential for learning or transfer

It depends on the specific situation/condition in each state, social system, support of state, etc. But we think the project has a potential to be transferred to other countries.
