Identify the processes or practices that lead to energy consumption not required
The practice was introduced because of drift of consumption inducing high energy invoices in a phase of normal operation of the enterprise.

The purpose of the practice was to return to a normal or even a decreased energy consumption.
To do so, we had to:
- identify the drifts searching by section during a shutdown of the activity;
- implement good practices via communication: example => end of production signalled to cut energy;
- network looping;
- curative and preventive maintenance;
- Training of the various users of the utilities.
- Etc.
The key stakeholders of the practice are maintenance, operator and management services.

Resources needed

Investment-free, this action principally required teamwork, collaboration between operators and field engineers, coordination with the team and the system manager.

Evidence of success

- Significant results on energy consumption reduction
- project supported by the entire workforce, each playing a role, more or less important with a more or less important impact (e.g. light extinguishing and air conditioning in administrative offices; use correct energy for a defined need in conditioning).

Difficulties encountered

No difficulty in setting up solutions, difficulties in maintaining the good practices.

Potential for learning or transfer

This experience is fully replicable in other European industries. Its implementation is simple and low budget. In addition, it induces short terms positive results as long as the teamwork is strongly engaged.
