Evidence of success

With these publications, the Municipality of Budapest wanted to promote the development of urban green infrastructure, the work of professionals, decision-makers and the provision of information to citizens. The publications present gap-filling professional, yet easy-to-understand and applicable proposals that not only facilitate planning, but also enable the wider application of innovative and climate-friendly solutions in developments and investments, even at a smaller community level.

Potential for learning or transfer

There is a strong potential to transfer and implement such booklets in several municipalities all around Europe. In addition to assessing the current situation, the booklets make a number of recommendations for solutions; using a toolkit, they provide thought-provoking ideas and concrete proposals on a number of residential and urban development issues related to green infrastructure development.
The publication contributes to the focus on the protection of urban green spaces and to the protection of these valuable urban elements using the necessary tools from design through implementation to subsequent maintenance.
