It is a national project funded by the Regional Operational Program 2014-2020
Includes thermal rehabilitation that determine the decrease of energy consumption for heating, in the conditions of ensuring and maintaining the indoor thermal climate, by limiting the heat loss to the outside as well as improving the urban aspect.
Therefore the following actions helped to increase the energy efficiency:
- Repairing of the construction elements of the façade that present a potential danger of detachment and / or affect
building functionality
- Modernization of the lightning rod installation
-Thermal rehabilitation of the heating system / of the hot water supply system
-Installation of alternative systems for producing electricity and / or heat for own consumption.
-Rehabilitation / modernization of the lighting installation in buildings.
-Restoration of interior finishes in the intervention areas.

Resources needed

The total value of the project is 438,803.50 euro, of which the requested amount is 327,779.52 euro), equivalent to 98% of the total eligible value, a percentage that represents the average intensity of the intervention corresponding to all activities / sub-activities in the funding application.

Evidence of success

- Thermally rehabilitated public building.
- Decrease in the specific annual level of greenhouse gases by at least 67% (a reduction of 44.68 equivalent tonnes of CO2 / year, compared to the current level), due to the decrease of energy consumption through the rehabilitation of the building.
- Decrease of the annual primary energy consumption for the rehabilitated building, with a minimum of 69% (a reduction of 299455.79 kWh/year,

Difficulties encountered

By implementing the project, it had been done the thermal rehabilitation of the building and the installation of alternative energy production systems - biomass power plant (pellets), therefore it aims to reduce energy consumption for heating, reduce heating costs and also reduce fuel imports

Potential for learning or transfer

The reduction of the specific annual consumption of primary energy (from non-renewable sources) is 70% (a reduction of 292.14 kWh/sqm/year compared to the current consumption), in the main building of the Mihail Drumes Gymnasium School in Bals; respectively the reduction of the specific annual consumption of primary energy (from non-renewable sources) for heating/cooling by at least 80% (a reduction of 193.10 kWh/sqm/year compared to the current consumption). The project had a rigorous maintenance plan with specific works; cumulative positive net cash flows over the entire reporting period under consideration, thus demonstrating that the entity is not at risk of a cash deficit. In this context, the project can be considered a model of good practice so that it can be replicated in other regions as well.
