Solar parks platform was launched in 2019. The launched solar parks platform gives every resident of the country, even those living in an apartment, the opportunity to purchase or rent part of the solar power plant from solar parks and at the same time become a remote generating consumer. This is the world’s first implemented project of geographically remote solar power plants operating nationwide. Currently Solar parks platform is counting more than 3,000 platform’s users, more than 27 projects with total capacity of 14 MW were sold or rent to the end customers through the platform.
This practice could have a positive impact on increase of number of prosumers. App. 20 percent of total prosumers went to the market using Solar Parks platform and become remote generating prosumers (virtual prosumers).
This practice also could have positive impact on the RES development. This practice had impact on successful solar projects development in Lithuania. More than 27 projects were published and successfully sold or rent to the end users.
UAB “Ignitis” is one of state-owned companies. The beneficiaries are all market nationwide. This practice contributes to the achievement of political goals to increase the number of prosumers.

Difficulties encountered
There are some challenges during the implementation period. One of the biggest hurdles to the widespread adoption of solar power is variances in solar intensity. Another obstacle to solar electricity is photovoltaic efficiency. The more efficient a panel is, the more expensive it is to produce.
