As the ALICE project’s first phase of exploration has ended, it is time to take action!
From August 2019 to August 2021, ALICE’s partners from Wallonia, Hauts-de-France, Catalonia, Apulia, Slovakia and the Rseszow region evaluated the state of the animation industry in Europe. Confronting their own perspectives and learning from each other, they conducted a complete study which resulted in a series of practical recommendations and tools to help policy makers boost cross-border collaboration and improve competitiveness.
Armed with this deep knowledge of the sector, they drafted a series of practical tools and recommendations to help policy makers from across Europe build a competitive environment for animation that supports growth. These proposals are all compiled in the project whitepaper.
Furthermore, each partner built their own one-year action plan designed to apply ALICE’s new tools in their markets and turn recommendations into local policies.
The ALICE group met in Barcelona on 30 June 2022 to report on the positive impact of its actions, adjust recommendations and discuss ways to maintain ALICE's legacy by strengthening the European animation industry over the long term.
