The first workshop of the BID-REX project, organised by the Directorate General for Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment (DG03), the BID-REX project partner in Belgium, took place in Wallonia in February.

During the workshop, project partners from all seven European regions met to discuss and evaluate regional processes related to biodiversity data. They were joined by nearly 50 specialists and stakeholders from academia, regional administrations and research centres who gave their perspective on how biodiversity information is used in their region. Several recommendations were made and actions agreed at the end of the two day workshop. These will form the basis for the next four workshops which will take place over the duration of the project.
