The Marche Region has organised and run a series of local stakeholder meetings to explore the current state of implementation of the Regional Ecological Network.

The meetings, held between March and May this year, aimed to consider the difficulties faced by public administrations and Natura 2000 managing bodies. Specific areas of the Regional Ecological Network were analysed, pros and cons of the network were considered and good management practices exchanged.

Ongoing participatory modelling in the region is aiming to match the needs of decision-makers with biodiversity conservation requirements. This ongoing process is highlighting some weaknesses in current databases but also their future potential.
