The first Hungarian local stakeholders’ meeting of the ‘From Biodiversity Data to Decisions’ (BID-REX) project was held on 30 September in Debrecen. The purpose of the first meeting was to create a group of experts. This group will help the project reach its goals with their regular meetings throughout the project, contributing to knowledge exchange. The members of the expert group represent the creators of biodiversity information, the academic institutions, NGOs, regional water and environmental organizations, farmers’ association, management bodies of development funds and ministries. Their involvement will be an important part of the project’s success, contributing to better information management and more effective knowledge management and decision-making processes related to the Environment and Energy Efficiency Operational Programme 2014-2020. The experts group is an open group, therefore there is the possibility for new members to join.

In this first meeting discussions centred on the project’s main components, work flow and when stakeholders can be involved in the project’s tasks. The next meeting of the local stakeholders will be organized in January 2017.
