On 29 March 2018, Ljubljana organised the fourth stakeholder meeting with the aim of improving biodiversity information for Ljubljana Marsh Nature Park.
The workshop was attended by a range of stakeholders, mostly biodiversity experts interested in sharing their experiences working with end users of biodiversity information - such as park managers or decision makers.
The main aim of the meeting was to discuss how to gather knowledge and data on the existing biodiversity information for Ljubljana Marsh Nature Park - the Slovenian pilot area.
Obstacles in the process of data flow from collectors to end users were also discussed. One of the major concerns of the biodiversity experts was that end users do not always understand the work put into data collecting, processing and organising. Digitisation of data is an important step in data processing and can take as much time as data collection. However, this should not hinder the process of biodiversity conservation.
