The first day of the study visit of BIGDATA 4RIVERS in Sweden and the County Administrative Board of Östergötland were held at January 25th. During the study visit the structure of the work with the Water framework directive in Sweden was presented and several good practices such as the Local action plan for river Tinnerbäcken, a stormwater management project, treatment of pharmaceuticals at the WWTP Linköping, conclusions from the Interreg Baltic project CWPharma and opportunities, and difficulties in the practice of using surface waters as drinking water in Sweden was introduced.
During 26th of January an exchange of experiences took place where interesting presentations related to topics from day one included stormwater management in the Orléans metropolis in France, pharmaceuticals in Lithuanian waters and results from measuring campaigns in Asopos river in Greece and by Nor-Water in Portugal by representatives of the University of Athens and Porto. Finishing the second day SOCAMEX introduced solutions to WWTP odor issues in Valladolid.
