The BRIDGES project and the BERRY+ S3 industrial modernisation partnership have shared from the start focus on innovation, circular bio-based economy and value-chain based development. Thanks to the additional activities awarded to the BRIDGES project (2021-2023) and the value chain approach adopted in BERRY+, the Regional Council of Helsinki-Uusimaa (PP4 in the BRIDGES project and PP2 in the BERRY+) has brought together the two initiatives with its RIS3, and operationalised the linkages, in the sense of a new generation of planned activities. This approach is a demonstration of how regional authorities can experiment and benefit from and through interregional initiatives.
