A conference »The management of cross border water bodies« took place in Tolmin on the 16th of November.
Representatives of different projects from Italy and Slovenia exchanged experiences in the river management, fish restocking and the control of alien fish species.
One of the invited speakers was Miro Kristan from Soča Valley Development Centre, who contributed to the conference with the presentation of the economic aspects of repopulation of marble trout in Soča valley. He emphasized the ecosystem value of repopulation that led to big economic influence of aquaculture sub-sector in the region. It has a big innovation potential which was identified also in BRIDGES project, where action plan for the further economic development was prepared.
