The good practice "Tholos" (Virtual Reality museum hosting digital collections and testimonies of high cultural value-Athens) by Foundation of the Hellenic World, Greece, which was presented to the CD-ETA project partners during 4th thematic seminar “Digitization of historical sites”, held in Athens and Patras, Greece – 13/03/2018-17/03/2018, was awarded at the "Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism’ Awards. Specifically, the ceremony that took place virtually on 22nd October had as theme the "Special interest tourism development and promotion based on Cultural Heritage".
Within the frames of the Category "INNOVATION & DIGITISATION FOR SUSTAINABLE CULTURAL TOURISM TOWARDS SMART DESTINATIONS", “Tholos” won the 2nd Prize.
Mr. Christopoulos who represents the owners of the "Tholos" thanks to the consortium of CD-ETA project because Project CD-ETA was a great opportunity for “Tholos” to disseminate its activities in the wider European public. Thanks to the networking with Interreg Europe Programme and the presentation he had at the online discussion Digital technologies and museums: experiences and opportunities in the postpandemic period (18 June 2020) organized by the Policy Learning Platform, the Interreg Community informed “Tholos” about this event.
