The pilot “Interactive 3D map of Towers in la Ribera” developed by MANRA coordinate by Euroregion Pleven-Olt in the frame of CD-ETA project add-on, has applied to regional grants in Valencia to develop its content. During these last months, the technicians of MANRA has took part in a training program in cooperation with the Lead Partner - Association Euroregion Pleven-Olt.
This online training, in the first semester of Interreg Europe CD-ETA Add-on, transfer to MANRA technicians the knowledge to develop an interactive map with some heritage items, 3 Arabic towers, with multimedia and textual information. These skills include image edition, photogrammetry, website integration. The methodology used was video tutorial and online assistance.
The result was spread through the communication channels and stakeholders meeting and beneficiaries were really happy with the result. MANRA is working for the wide spreading of the project, and has applied for a heritage grant from the Valencian Government (Call for grants for preservation, protection and recovery of cultural heritage buildings in Valencian Region). Most of this line of investment is focused on physical works of restoration, and this was such a challenge for local administration finding new funds for digital preservation.
This interactive map shows the geographical situation of each item, their relation among similar items (Arabic towers from IX – XI centuries). This allows to include interactive and multimedia information (videos, pictures, 3D models) and is an innovative format in the task of MANRA of local heritage preservation and dissemination.
