BSC Kranj, Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska, held a Stakeholder group meeting on 1 March 2018 in Škofja Loka. Eight participants (representatives of museums, municipalities and Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska) were presented the content of the 3rd thematic seminar »Digitization of intangible cultural heritage« held in Škofja Loka, Slovenia, in October 2017. Škofja Loka is a small medieval Slovenian town, a birthplace of The Škofja Loka Passion play, which is the oldest play in Slovenian language and the first unit to be entered in the Slovenian intangible cultural heritage register. At the end of 2016 it was also inscribed on the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
On the regional stakeholder group meeting we reviewed the best practices presented in Škofja Loka and the conclusions made at the end of the thematic seminar »Digitization of intangible cultural heritage«. The stakeholders at the meeting were also invited to sign up for the CD-ETA newsletter. Together, we overviewed the project timeline and the upcoming seminars. We discussed the programme and attendance of the forthcoming meeting of CD-ETA, the 4th Thematic Seminar on “Digitization of monuments and archaeological sites” which will be held in Greece from 13 till 15 March 2018.
The last part of the meeting was dedicated to the Škofja Loka Passion Play which is the biggest open-air performance in Slovenia, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to the picturesque medieval town of Škofja Loka. With the cooperation of many stakeholders, public and private, we managed to make the interactive guide which is free for users, the visitors of Škofja Loka, and with which we made the step further in the digitalization of intangible cultural heritage. Whilst in Slovenia, The CD-ETA project partners had the honour to be the first to try and experience the interactive guide Passion Play of Škofja Loka. The interactive guide is the mobile product of interactive stories. It comes as a free app with different quizzes, challenges and tasks, even adding augmented reality. The path comprises 13 points in Škofja Loka through which the user becomes acquainted with the city sights, Škofja Loka Passion Play and history, from the beginning of the city to the times of Pater Romuald (the author of the Passion Play) and all the way to the present time. The path includes the latest possibilities of interactive stories offered by NEXTO, which represents a new and exciting was to tell location based stories and further improves the user experience at the site of the heritage. After the meeting, the members of the regional stakeholder group attended the study visit, testing the interactive guide Passion Play of Škofja Loka on the streets of Škofja Loka.
