One of the measures of Regional Action Plan elaborated by “Euroregion Pleven-Olt” Association is already in progress.
The implementation of project "Positive Memories from the Old Negatives" has started with beneficiary State Agency “Archives”, Department Pleven.
It is foreseen in the course of 10 months 1 000 negatives, selected among more than 20 000, to be digitized.
The project is financed by National Fund “Culture” within Cultural Heritage Program, as funds allocated for its implementation amount of BGN 10 000.
Pleven is the first regional structure of State Agency “Archives” which begins the digitalization of its arrays, emphasized Assoc. Prof. Dr. Michael Gruev, Chairman of State Agency. He congratulated his colleagues from Pleven for their boldness to undertake this difficult task and showed full support in their endeavor.
Two exhibitions will be prepared from the visualized negatives. One of them, in the form of panels will be presented both at State Agency “Archives” and in the winter garden of Pleven District Administration building. The other one will be a digital one and will be visible on the website of “State Archives” - Pleven and on the website of Municipality - Pleven. Students from “Aleko Konstantinov” Tourism High School will participate in the selection of materials for the exhibitions. The idea is to provoke young people's interest in history, local life and culture.
Marinela Yordanova thanked everyone for their support in the realization of the project, especially emphasizing the assistance provided by “Euroregion Pleven-Olt” Association.
A representative of the Association told the audience about the role of CD-ETA project as an inspirer for the development of the project proposal.
Project implementation should be completed by the end of April 2020.
