On March 6th, CISMOB partners held one more fruitful meeting as part of CISMOB’s Project Staff Exchange Program. On this meeting, representatives of the Municipality of Águeda and AGENEX - Extremadura Energy Agency – Spain, exchanged experiences, challenges, opportunities and overall good practices in the field of electric mobility, but also difficulties in the implementation and development of the project beÁgueda. This meeting was of the outmost importance to AGENEX objectives for the updating and adjustment of the project in Spain.

Edson Santos, Vice-President of the Municipality of Agueda, stated that they want the citizens of Águeda to acquire and further develop more sustainable mobility habits with the use of the bicycle. He also added that the launch of a new phase of the event is being prepared, and that it will be as innovative and differentiating as it was seven years ago.

The CISMOB project (Cooperative information platform for low carbon and sustainable mobility) has as main vision to promote the application of Information and communication Technologies (ICT) in urban mobility as a way to promote the reduction of the carbon footprint and increase the sustainability of urban areas, through an optimization in the efficiency of the transport system. The CISMOB consortium integrates a set of cities and regions with heterogeneous characteristics, which are represented by institutions with complementary profiles. All partners cooperated to identify best practices for sustainable management of the transport system.
