The 4th Main CISMOB event took place in Aveiro and Águeda on 7-9 March and was organized by University of Aveiro and the Municipality of Águeda. The event included the 3rd CISMOB Thematic Conference and the 3rd Building Capacity Workshop.

On March 7th, the 3rd CISMOB Thematic Conference "Intelligent Transport Systems – from science to policy and from policy to the real world" gathered together researchers, transport and mobility consultants, public transport companies, representatives of the Portuguese Institute for Mobility and Transport, managing authorities and municipalities, and citizens. The event keynote speakers included the Portuguese Deputy Minister for Environment, José Gomes Mendes, the University of Aveiro Vice-Rector, Paulo Vila Real, the Policy Officer, Seconded National Expert Intelligent Transport Systems - DG Move, Unit B.4 Sustainable & Intelligent Transport from European Commission, Pedro Barradas, the former Director of ITRE (USA), Nagui Rouphail, Daniel Rudmark from RISE Viktoria (Sweden) and the Transport Consultant and Business Improvement Specialist, Brian Masson (United Kingdom). The Thematic Conference included many interesting presentations of projects about smart mobility, an Open Data Session and two Discussion Panels: "Fostering multimodal open data structures – challenges and achievements" and "ITS – Science and policy framework towards a low carbon economy.

On the second day of the event, two technical visits to Abimota LEA in Águeda and Órbita in Miralago happened in the morning. The afternoon was occupied by the 3rd CISMOB Building Capacity Workshop with two sessions about Soft and Connected Mobility and Policy Framework towards low carbon mobility. Many speakers from several projects that are working towards a smart mobility in Europe made presentations to light a discussion about the subject.

The second day ended with the 4th regional stakeholder meeting of Centro.  The general guidelines of the action plan for the OP CENTRO 2020 which includes 3 main measures: were discussed:

1) Promotig of smart and connected mobility and test bed city platforms 

2) Improving quality of information of public transport system based on ICT

3 Improving cycling mobility experience through ICT


On the last day, in the morning occurred the 5th Steering Group Meeting, the 4th Working Group Meeting and a visit to the University of Coimbra. In the afternoon, the participants made a technical visit to SMTUC in Coimbra.
