Electric mobility plays a key role to move towards low carbon mobility solutions and Extremadura (SPAIN) is committed to seeking to anticipate the future and respond to some of the challenges presented by the mass adoption of electric vehicles. One of the most important activities in the action plan for Extremadura is to promote electric vehicles as a way to achieve low carbon and sustainable mobility.

Thus, Extremadura’s Regional Government in collaboration with AGENEX - Extremadura Energy Agency and CISMOB Project conceived and developed a STRATEGY FOR BOOSTING THE ELECTROMOBILITY IN EXTREMADURA. The Strategy has a budget around 12.8M€ from ERDF funds and other public-private funds and aims to create a new mobility model in the region based on security, efficiency, and economic and environmental sustainability.

This was inspired by the GOOD PRACTICE on fully integrated innovative electric mobility model from Portugal, Mobi.E.

In November 2018, the Strategy was approved by the Regional Government and presented to the public in the event EXPOENERGEA 2018. Several activities related to the Strategy has already started, which are good news!

For example: in the following months, the Regional Government will launch a programme with grants and financial tools for buying electric vehicles and create a Regional Network of Charging Points.

We are proud that CISMOB Action Plan measures are being implemented!
